Career
Deepak has been Chief Executive Officer of global medical technology company Smith+Nephew since 2022. Previously, he was President of the Diagnostics business at Siemens Healthineers. Prior to Siemens Healthineers, he spent 10 years at Abbott Laboratories, culminating in his appointment as President of Abbott Vascular, and held leadership roles at Amgen and McKinsey.
Deepak began his career as a scientist in computational physics at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He holds a BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Theoretical Mechanics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Deepak brings global leadership expertise with a track record of transforming business operations and performance at major healthcare companies, most recently at Smith+Nephew. He has scaled businesses organically and through strategic acquisitions, and is recognised for building strong innovation-led results-focused organisations.
