Kansas City Royals and Reckitt, The Makers of Lysol, Partner to Enhance Kauffman Stadium’s Disinfection Protocols

Kansas City, MO and Parsipphany, NJ, April 8, 2021 – Today, the Kansas City Royals welcome Reckitt, the makers of Lysol, to Kauffman Stadium. They are proud to announce a partnership that will introduce enhanced disinfection protocols at The K for the 2021 season and beyond. Today’s announcement follows the commitment by Reckitt with MLB, announced in October 2020.

This partnership comes at a time when 84% of people in the US are concerned about germs.[1] As the Royals organization welcomes fans back to The K, a top priority is establishing enhanced disinfection protocols that can help protect fans, players, and employees. To do this, the Royals will tap into Lysol’s industry-leading, 100-plus years of germ-kill expertise and innovation, which will be at the forefront of creating enhanced disinfection measures at the ballpark.

Reckitt will supply EPA-approved disinfection products, including those proven to be effective against SARS-CoV-2,[2] the virus that causes COVID-19, to use across areas where germs are most prevalent. Through this partnership, the Royals are putting their confidence in a science-backed, strategic approach designed with Lysol. This approach combines disinfection products from a trusted industry leader, with rigorously developed protocols that will offer additional reassurance to fans and staff. Dispensers with Lysol Disinfecting Wipes will also be made available around the ballpark for fans to use for protection from the spread of germs on surfaces.
