It’s time to 'stand up’ for more sustainable packaging!

Starting from next month, one of our most recognisable brands – Finish – will help Reckitt get even closer to its 2025 sustainability goals, as it incorporates more recycled plastic into its packaging at a global level.

The iconic stand-up pouch will be made up of 30% mechanical Post-Consumer Recycled material (PCR) this summer, when the latest products roll off the production line.

In 2019, we started our journey to reduce our use of non-recyclable plastics by ditching multi-material laminates (PET-PE) in favour of recyclable packaging. After that giant leap, we introduced the recyclable PE stand-up pouch, which was chosen for its high recyclability ranking

Now, in 2021, after two years of exploration and analysis of multiple materials, we’ve upgraded again to incorporate 30% recycled material into recyclable pouch.

From big businesses to individual households, we owe it to the next generation to build for a better, greener planet. At Reckitt, we are conscious of our responsibility to help lead the fight against climate change, but it is now more important than ever to act.

Director, Packaging Sustainability – Hygiene

“We retain our goal of making all packaging on all products recyclable, but this is a process. Introducing 30% recycled plastic to Finish’s stand-up pouch products, whilst maintaining its integrity, is a fantastic start, and the result of years of research and testing into how we balance protecting our environment and the quality of the product within.”

“However, it is important that we continue to make further progress in this area, and something we are dedicated to achieving.”

And we couldn’t have done it without the tremendous support from our Project Team and our partners - Drukpol.Flexo and Morssinkhof-Rymoplast It was a real team effort.
