RB included in Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for second year running

RB has once again been included in the DJSI, scoring highly in the Household Products industry category for the broad economic, social and environmental dimensions.

RB, the health, hygiene and home consumer goods company included in DJSI World Index economic, environmental and social categories. 

RB (LON: RB) today announces it has once again been included in Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), scoring highly in the Household Products industry category for the broad economic, social and environmental dimensions. 

Specifically, RB achieved top scores in supply chain management, tax strategy, packaging, corporate citizenship and philanthropy, environmental policy, occupational health and safety, product stewardship and environmental reporting. Earlier this year RB was ranked fourth globally in the Newsweek Green Rankings, one of the world’s foremost rankings on corporate sustainability. 

As part of its betterbusiness strategy, the company focuses on delivering education, innovation and philanthropic support that can have positive effects on health and hygiene behaviour across the globe. It also is committed to reducing negative environmental and social impacts across the value chain.

RB has ambitious sustainability goals for 2020 and we’re proud that our performance so far has once again been recognised in the latest Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Sustainability goals for 2020 RB is targeting a 1/3 reduction in water impact, 1/3 reduction in carbon and to have 1/3 of its net revenue coming from more sustainable products by 2020. 

It is also the Save the Children charity’s largest FMCG global partner, with a new partnership vision to stop diarrhoea being in the top five of the world’s killers of under-fives. Overall RB wants to reach 200 million people to improve their health and hygiene behaviour. 

RB is making great progress towards its betterbusiness goals for 2020, including  

• 2% reduction in total product water impact per dose and 3% reduction in carbon footprint per dose in 2014 

• Over 74% of factories achieved zero manufacturing waste to landfill status 

• 70 million young people engaged in sexual health awareness campaign since 2013
